The SHG50 is the little sibling of the SHG300. It produces 50 sccm of hydrogen, enough to operate a single gas chromatography instrument in the field, and has an integral photovoltaic panel so that no other supply is needed. Although, as with the SHG300, the SHG50 is a hybrid electrolyzer that will continue to produce hydrogen from your car’s battery or other source during sunless hours. The SHG50 also has an integral folding stand that positions it at the correct angle when set up. Instrumentation includes an ammeter for the photocurrent, a voltage meter, and mechanical flowmeters for both the oxygen and hydrogen output. It also has onboard ambient pressure storage and enough onboard water for 30 days of continuous operation.
